Philadelphia, PA. December 1, 2025

The noise is getting harder for the Philadelphia Eagles to ignore. even inside the NovaCare Complex. Days after “Fire Kevin” chants filled Lincoln Financial Field during the Black Friday loss to the Chicago Bears, the future of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has become the hottest topic in the city. And with the Eagles in a mini-bye before facing the Chargers on December 8, all eyes have shifted to one question. If Nick Sirianni takes play-calling away from Patullo, who steps in next.

The Eagles have publicly backed Patullo. Sirianni reiterated after the Bears loss that there would be no immediate change in who calls the plays. Yet his follow-up words told a different story.

“We will evaluate everything” he said. “It is never just one person. Kevin has a part of it. I have a part of it. every coach and every player has a part of it.” The tone echoed what Sirianni said two years ago about former defensive coordinator Sean Desai. days before quietly replacing him with Matt Patricia. History in Philadelphia has a way of repeating itself.

If the Eagles make a move this week, the list of possible replacements is long. and wildly different in quality. On one extreme sits Chip Kelly. recently fired by the Raiders and absolutely not returning to Philadelphia. On another sits Frank Reich. who coached the Eagles’ Super Bowl offense and remains a Sirianni mentor. but is currently the head coach at Stanford and unlikely to drop everything midseason.

More intriguing possibilities hover around the edges. Brian Daboll is still under Giants contract and out of play until next year. Jemal Singleton is beloved by his running backs but has never coached quarterbacks or designed a full passing structure. and Nick Sirianni retaking the play sheet would contradict the very philosophy he adopted after abandoning play-calling in 2021.

Then come the true internal candidates. Jeff Stoutland is a Philadelphia icon but has never shown interest in becoming a full offensive coordinator. Scott Loeffler arrived this season as QB coach with decades of offensive experience in college. including coordinating the Auburn and Boston College offenses. and helping guide Tim Tebow during his Heisman run in Florida. If the Eagles wanted a steady, experienced external-internal hybrid voice, Loeffler fits the mold.

But one name stands above the rest. Parks Frazier. the 33-year-old passing game coordinator and the brightest rising star on the staff. Frazier has history with both Sirianni and Reich dating back to their time in Indianapolis. and most importantly, he has already called plays in the NFL. He took over the Colts offense during the turbulent second half of 2022. guiding a struggling roster through a difficult transition. The results were mixed. but the experience was invaluable.

Sirianni has spoken glowingly about him all season.

“When you have worked with someone day in and day out. like we have with Parks. you understand the flow” Sirianni said. “Both Parks and Loeffler have been extremely valuable to our team. They are fantastic coaches. That is why we hired them.” That endorsement has not gone unnoticed.

The Eagles remain 8–4 and in control of the NFC East. yet the offense has not matched the roster’s talent. The boos captured that frustration. and with the playoffs approaching, Philadelphia cannot afford to stall. Whether Patullo holds onto the job or not, the next week could determine the direction of the Eagles offense for the rest of 2025.
