Kate Middleton and Prince William Delaying “Heartbreaking” Decision About Prince George’s School
Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently deciding where Prince George will go to school, and will likely delay revealing their choice to the public.
The royal couple are deciding between Eton (where William wants him to go) and Marlborough College (where Kate wants him to go).
William and Kate have been arguing about Eton vs. Malborough for “years.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton are in the middle of figuring out where their eldest son, Prince George, is going to school—a decision that’s been causing Kate to be “heartbroken.” And apparently they’re waiting to reveal their choice to the public until the last possible moment.

“If the Wales family runs true to form, they will announce Prince George’s secondary school at the eleventh hour, possibly as late as September 2026,” expert Melanie Sanderson tells HELLO! “They understand that the school itself, as well as George’s new peer group, will fall under intense scrutiny as soon as it is revealed and will probably want to minimize this, allowing the young royal to transition to his new school with as little fanfare as possible.”
Prince George will either attend Eton like his father, Prince William, or will attend Marlborough College like his mother, Kate Middleton. And apparently the pair have been at odds over the decision for years.
Broadcaster Helena Chard told Fox, “The discussions have been circulating for years, with the Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly arguing and debating the decision for years. I’m surprised the bookies haven’t initiated a bet on which school Prince George will attend next autumn!”
A source also told OK!, “Kate thinks sending him to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernize the monarchy. Plus, she’ll miss George desperately. She and William argued about it for years, but he has finally won.”
